The happening of the wow things is pretty rare. And the wow stuff that started with a low calibre beating the higher calibre is kinda becoming commonplace. While the Aston Martin experienced that with its DB11.
The DB11 originally came out with a V12 engine. But later it got an edition with the V8. Surprisingly, the V8 got more attention than the V12. And this certainly forced Aston Martin to jump back into research and development for a V12 variant powerful enough to be a step ahead of the V8.
Well, following that lead, the actual DB11 has been discontinued in a few key markets, and the DB11 AMR has been introduced as a direct replacement. All this happened in the summer of 2018, almost a year and a half after the introduction of the DB11.
What’s to worry about when the DB11 AMR sufficiently covers its costs? The DB11 AMR will only cost you $241,000. And that’s $26,000 more than the original DB11. Well, the performance lovers, especially the V12 lovers, would never hesitate to pay that price for a car. And most importantly, when it’s so neatly finished, why would anyone resign?
While not a dream car at all, it does indeed have a subtle passion and a very nice contribution from Aston Martin. And a lot of people would crave to buy one. Now let’s go ahead and explore the capabilities of the Aston Martin DB11 AMR!

What could worry an automaker more when it’s cheap and attracts more attention than its exclusive production? To remedy this situation, Aston Martin upgraded the DB11’s 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine to produce more power. Subsequent improvement added 30 more horses to the power. While ideal torque is equally the same and sits at 516 lb-ft.
Well, not just the engine, the entire powertrain received some decent upgrades to put the DB11 AMR in the top range. Aside from the engine, the next major improvement is made in the transmission system. It’s the same 8-speed automatic with the manual shift mode. But it is more responsive than the one installed in DB11. Well, with all these improvements, the DB11 AMR accelerates 0.3 seconds faster than the actual DB11. While it has been recorded as achieving 8 mph more than the standard variant.
Previously, the rear suspension was made tighter, making it stiff and strong. At the same time, the exhaust system was converted to aggressive emissions. And you can feel all the aggression while driving the DB11 AMR in Sport and Sport+ modes.
The whole handling mechanism is similar to DB11. But you can experience smoothness and firm response with the DB11 AMR.
With all these improvements, the DB11 AMR is sure to become an Aston Martin favorite. And even it gets a good position among its competitors. But it’s actually quite noisy, which is indeed one of this car’s standout catches.

Before that, the rocker panels, splitters and strakes are black as standard.
