The Ford arrived in time with the world growing into the alternative fuel and hybrid segment. They are among the car manufacturers that are more oriented towards general consumer needs. What the general consumer needs are is already known!
Among its famous city cars, you would surely get around the C-Max. Once upon a time it was just a city car with European trim. But after 2010, this car also reached some developed markets, including North America.
That was in 2003 when the C-Max was first introduced. A decent powertrain variant, simple design and simple interior were the main points of this car. And it was released in late 2003 as a 2004 model.
Since then it has gone on and on and recorded some good sales for the Ford. While in 2009 Ford realized they could market this car outside of Europe as well. They brought the second generation version to the Geneva Motor Show and revealed that they will expand the market for this car.
At the end of 2010, the second generation for 2011 was launched. Meanwhile, Ford showed off the C-Max at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. But that was just a hybrid version.
Well, the current model range usually consists of two models with the standard drive. The SE is the base version, available for $28,244. And the finest trim line is available for $31,640. While the American hybrid line started at $24,120. While the standard variants are being withdrawn to Europe, sales in other markets will be discontinued. And the hybrid spec variants have been discontinued.

The drivetrain collection is similar to a number of other hatchbacks. Even Ford has released a few other vehicles that meet similar specs. Given this perspective, the company has decided to scale back production until the end of 2019.
Well, the basic ingredients can be different in each market. But the smallest caliber available in the series gets a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine with 100 hp. An improved version is available with 125 horses. Both machines are equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition, a 1.6L engine is also available, offered in limited markets. It comes with 150 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Before that, a heavily tuned variant is also available that makes 32 more horses for the same torque ratio. And both engines are coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Duratec engines offer both economy and performance. The ingredient consists of a 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine with three different power levels. Here comes the first with 85 horses and 80 lb-ft of torque, the second with 20 more horses. And the best with 125 more horses at 117 lb-ft of torque. While these all come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Before that, the Duratorq diesel powertrain provides the necessary economy. In addition, the 1.6-liter engine sits at the base and produces 95 hp. While a tuned 115 hp variant comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 2.0-liter engine with 115, 140 and 163 hp is also available in the series. And they all come with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The C-Max is available in two lengths. The standard models are 172.4 inches long. While the Grand C-Max models are almost 6 inches longer. And they even have a rear sliding door. The cosmetics also include the halogen headlights, alloy wheels and a tiny spoiler. While the fog lights, rails and the larger wheels are optional. The exterior design is similar to the Fiesta and S-Max. But the C-Max is smaller than the S-Max but larger than the Fiesta.

The interior is fine for an everyday drive with the requisite comfy spots and comfortable seats. Basic ingredients include the cloth seats and fiber trim. And the leather seats are available on the top trim levels. In addition, the C-Max offers space for 5 people including the driver. While the Grand C-Max models have ample space to haul loads of cargo.
The interior setting certainly makes driving the C-Max easier. And the sufficient level of comfort even gives the opportunity to drive with it on long distances and highways.

The Sync3 touchscreen infotainment system is available for the C-Max. It’s a fairly intuitive infotainment system, but it’s installed deep in the center console, making it difficult to see at times. The Volkswagen Touran takes some credit for Ford planning to discontinue the C-Max. The Touran has great performance, a smooth drive and a comfortable interior. It’s a complete family package with plenty of economy. The C-Max is the same, but not as chic as the Touran.
Well, Ford discontinued hybrids back in 2017. It is expected that they would even put a stop to the C-Max. But it’s still unconfirmed what would replace this car.
