The continuous improvement in the car world brought various simplifications to daily driving. Tremendous features are available to traverse the heavy traffic and stay safe during the rush. While all of this increased the driving experience of the family, leading to the new generation.

Well, almost every other family sedan has enough features that not only make driving easier, but make driving even more fun. One of the outgoing examples is the Lada Priora, which offers various features to the family drivers. Well, this Priora was introduced in anticipation of the 110, which served the market for almost ten years. This was a fine family car that even made an appearance at a number of motorsport events.

The Lada Priora gained decent fame in Russia along with the Eastern European states and some North African regions. Its low price, lower maintenance costs and commendable fuel economy have attracted many families to this car. While its upgradeable structure attracted some sports enthusiasts. Even AvtoVAZ presented this car at various sporting events, including the World Touring Car Championship Season 2009.

According to a recent confirmation from AvtoVAZ, the Priora is no longer in production. Instead, it would be replaced by the already existing Vesta. While the company stopped exporting the Priora in 2016, that was left for domestic sales only. And the Vesta came in as a replacement.

Before that, the Lada Priora is available in 5 models and has a starting price of $12,500. While the finest fairing comes with almost every option installed for $14,700. Additionally, as of mid-2019, the Priora may no longer be available on the market. But its parts and accessories would still be available.

The Priora generally appeared as a family sedan. The vehicle was a good choice for families looking for a cheap car. The Priora was not just a fuel-efficient family car. Instead, it even showed decent performance.

The basic variant is equipped with the 1.6 l 4-cylinder engine. It’s one of the more common powertrains found on the Priora. While it offered 98 horsepower with 106 lb-ft of torque. Such a power rating is good enough for family riding. But you can not rely on the performance of such a machine. In addition, the drive train is coupled to the 5-speed manual gearbox.

The upper trim levels are available with the 1.8 L 4-cylinder engine. Although it is even a modest performance block. But besides the decent driving standards, it even offered some capabilities. Well, this powertrain packs 120 horsepower and produces 130 lb-ft of torque. In addition, it is paired with the ZF 5-speed automatic transmission, equipped with the manual transmission mode.

Previously, the Priora even made an appearance in the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season. But he never managed to win a trophy at the tournament.

Over time, Lada improved driving characteristics for this car. The finally available version is not just a simple sedan with outdated driving characteristics. Instead, it received a notable upgrade that improved handling, making it a good car to drive around the busy city streets. And it offers remarkable handling on country roads.

The Priora gets a very static exterior design. It has a flat front design with a slight curve above the grille and a flat rear design. In addition, the steel wheels, halogen headlights and a gently designed and old-fashioned grille are standard. While the top trim models also get fog lights, alloy wheels and body-colored side mirrors. Overall, the Priora has a fairly old design. But it wouldn’t bother those looking for a cheap car.

The interior is simple and in order. There are five cloth seats, fiber accents and trim and some practical spots in this car. Also, it has room for five including a driver. In front of it, it offers plenty of space for the load. Also, only a minimal option is available to upgrade the interior. However, using the aftermarket products could make the Priora a lot more comfortable. Although it’s still spacious and good as a family ride. But not comfortable enough.

Features of the Lada Priora 2019

The Lada Priora is equipped with a stereo player as standard. A touchscreen infotainment system is available as an option. The system offers multimedia control, navigation, smartphone integration, Bluetooth and radio control. Before that, the Priora includes climate control with manual and automatic adjustment. Also, it doesn’t offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

2019 Lada Priora safety

The Priora just got 3 stars in the safety rating. Well, the previous version only scored 2 stars. Thanks to Lada for adding airbags and seat belt pretensioners to this car. In addition, the Priora is available with anti-lock brakes and parking sensors. In addition, it includes the rain-sensing wipers and the electronic stability control system. Hyundai accent

The Hyundai Accent is one of the common competitors for the Lada Priora. The Priora usually fronted the Accent in European markets. And every time Priora benefited from the low price. While the Accent had the edge most of the time due to its modern styling and comfortable interior.

Well the Priora is gone now and the Lada is eyeing Vesta to get a better position in the market. As long as Priora was alive, it served the company well.
