The same goes for sports cars. You can take the Panoz GTR-1 out on the racetracks and show that advantage on the city streets as well.
Well, the Panoz doesn’t shy away from the car world. The GTR-1 is no stranger either. We’ve seen him race at Le Mans and even in the FIA GT Championship. While we rarely saw this beast walking the city streets. Well, the Panoz GTR-1 was developed back in 1996 for the 1997 FIA GT Championship. And after a successful test, the vehicle was taken to the track.
But it was never hidden. Instead, Panoz has been marketing this car ever since. Although it limited some market parameters. But you can get one of these beasts for $900,000. Well, what’s so special about this car? And why is it so expensive? This is due to its sporty mechanics and sportsmanship.

The GTR-1 came out with a 6.0 L V8 engine. And since its launch, the mechanism of this car has not changed. In addition, the engine is coupled to a ZF 6-speed transaxle with paddle shifters. In addition, this combination delivers 600 horsepower with 500 lb-ft of torque.
The track version of the GTR-1 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. When it comes to the road, it needs to be launched within 5.0 seconds. Along with that, it covers a top speed of 155 mph. While the track variant can reach 177 mph. Well, this difference is understandable that if you have to let a beast loose on the streets, you have to muzzle it first.
The Panoz GTR-1 was introduced as a tribute to the founder of Panoz automobiles. He died in September 2018. The GTR-1 has not received any changes for the event either.
If you prefer to road dive a Panoz GTR-1, you may need to fix the suspension and tighten up some handling specs. Because the GTR-1 was created purely for the racetrack. But only recently it has seen some city streets. And a common expression is to prepare it for the signals and traffic on the roads.
Rest, the GTR-1 can certainly make you enjoy the beastly setup it was made for. But there are plenty of other options that outperform the Panoz GTR-1’s capabilities.

The Panoz GTR-1 is designed for the racetrack. It is not delicate, neither attractive nor sexy. The GTR-1 is just a beast pulled from a jungle where she mingled with her buddies and collected the trophies. What should a sports car look like? LED lamps, stylish wheels, aggressive grille and so on? But the GTR-1 has a nose to keep the 6.0-litre behemoth cool, flat wings to keep the car intact with the road, and a very low ride height. It’s a perfect design if you count on performance. Because it is a fully aerodynamic structure. But it doesn’t have enough style to show off.

Are you thinking about finding Lux in this car? Hey! It’s a pure sports car, taken to a racetrack and lined. No luxurious or rich leather material is included. Instead, it gets the sports seats and a vintage cockpit that’s good enough for the racers. But if you’re looking for a comfortable compartment, then the Panoz GTR-1 isn’t exactly the car you should be looking for. However, Panoz offers a leather-trimmed interior. But that’s not enough for the competition. Well, it’s one of those beasts you should sit in and take with you on the track.

The Panoz GTR-1 does not have an infotainment or entertainment system. No touch screen and no stereo player. It only receives a central command radio system with the two-way communication option. While you can install the touch screen, stereo player, navigation system and speakers in this car. But that’s not something Panoz offers. While it offers such improvements in the other cars, it’s not readily available for the GTR-1.

Concerned about security? Yes, the GTR-1 gets some airbags and the adjustable seat belts. However, if you’re considering a tire pressure monitoring system or some other electronic safety feature, you won’t find it here. It has traction control, stability control and the anti-lock braking system. Even it carries the brake force distribution system. But that’s all you can get with this car.

Besides the Panoz GTR-1, there are tons of other options to consider. And cars like the GTR-1 are pretty rare. You might see something like this in a blue moon. Well, after much deliberation, we came across the Nissan GT-R NISMO. It’s even an animal, but it’s one of the tamed animals. And it behaves well, has a nice shape and you can sit comfortably in this car.
