Milwaukee reaches new lengths with M12 Fuel Extended Reach ratchets
Whether you’re a professional mechanic or a recreational gear mechanic, you know the importance of having the right tool for the job. When it comes to access, some tools are just too bulky to fit into the tight nooks and crannies of an engine compartment. The second generation Milwaukee M12 Fuel extended-reach ratchets drastically reduce head size while trading some torque for speed. Find out if these ratchets’ design can help you better reach those hard-to-reach areas.
Milwaukee M12 Fuel High-Speed Extended Reach Ratchet: The Big Deal
These ratchets are available in both 3/8″ and 1/4″ models. Both versions have a maximum torque of 35 ft-lbs. This matches the torque output of the M12 Fuel High-Speed ratchets, but reduces the capabilities of the extended standard ratchets by 20 ft-lbs. They also reach speeds of up to 450 rpm. That’s about 200 RPM faster than the DeWalt Xtreme 12V extended ratchet and the Ryobi 18V extended ratchet. The Makita XRW01 ratchet still holds the top spot for speed at an insane 800 RPM.
The benefit of these newer models really seems to lie in their slim, compact profiles coupled with high speed. According to Milwaukee, their longer neck offers 20% more reach than comparable ratchets. In addition, the compact head profile and recessed forward-reverse shift knob allow for an access range of just 0.76 inches!
To ensure comfort and ease of use in any position, Milwaukee designed these ratchets with a variable speed, long reach paddle trigger.
It’s hard to leave behind tools that we know work well – even if they have some downsides, such as: B. the connection to a compressed air hose. However, with the new slimmer heads of these Milwaukee M12 Fuel Extended-Reach ratchets, you don’t feel like you’re sacrificing performance. Hoses, cables and regular maintenance are increasingly becoming a thing of the past.
